Sometimes the biggest changes don't begin with a strategic plan. They begin with one project that makes everyone stop and think: What could we transform next?
That's exactly what happened at Lenox Memorial Middle High School.
When an ecolor+ poster printer from PSI unexpectedly arrived in Heather McNeice's classroom, there wasn't a long list of planned projects waiting.
"My superintendent went to a conference, loved it, and ordered it. Next thing I knew it was in my classroom, and I was asked to learn how to use it!"
What started as one new piece of equipment quickly became something much bigger. As staff began creating colorful, professional displays for events, classrooms, and shared spaces, new ideas for transforming additional areas of the school quickly followed.
One transformation inspired another.
Seeing Possibilities in Every Corner
The printer quickly became part of everyday school life.
It supported career fairs, international celebrations, theater productions, senior recognition, classroom displays, bulletin boards, and schoolwide communication. But some of its biggest successes weren't tied to a single event.
Instead, they permanently changed the look and feel of the building itself.
The School Store façade, Café Window, and Performing Arts bulletin space each became vibrant focal points that reflected the energy of the programs they represented. Rather than serving as temporary decorations, they became lasting pieces of the school's identity.
And each completed project sparked conversations about what could come next.
One Transformation Inspires Another
The biggest impact wasn't simply the finished displays; it was the excitement they created.
As more transformed spaces appeared throughout the building, teachers and administrators began requesting signage and displays for their own classrooms, events, and initiatives.

Inspired by the Café Window, the cafeteria staff began designing a makeover of their own. Departments started imagining how their spaces could better reflect the work happening inside them. Instead of asking whether something could be transformed, staff began asking what should we transform next?
That shift created something bigger than individual posters.
It created momentum.
A Building That Reflects Its Students
Students have been involved in the design process for every major project, helping develop ideas and create the visuals that bring each transformation to life.
As the program has grown, students have continued to take ownership of the creative process. Their ideas are visible throughout the building, in spaces that celebrate school events, showcase programs, and make everyday environments feel more engaging.
The completed projects have helped create spaces that staff are proud of and have inspired even more ideas throughout the building.
They communicate pride and celebrate learning.
They remind students that the spaces they walk through each day deserve the same creativity and care as the work happening inside the classrooms.
Building a Culture That Keeps Growing
The transformation isn't slowing down.
With a new principal focused on PBIS and strengthening school culture, the printer will continue supporting consistent visual messaging throughout the building. Upcoming projects include transforming each World Language classroom doorway to reflect the culture taught inside, refreshing the library windows that welcome every visitor, and completing the cafeteria makeover inspired by earlier projects.
Heather sees each new idea as another opportunity to make the building feel more connected, welcoming, and representative of the school community.
As she puts it:
"It's a privilege to have a machine like this on site. If your district is willing to pay for it...you should definitely take advantage of it."
Because school culture isn't built through one big renovation.
It's built through the small, visible improvements that tell students, staff, and visitors that this is a place worth investing in. One space at a time.
